Michelle is truly inspiring to us. She is the kind of person who lights up a room when she enters it. She is passionate about mosaic artwork, and offers her work at elegantly affordable prices to keep it accessible to anyone. She got started in mosaic art, as she explains, "purely by accident!" Soon after purchasing a new home, she decided to re-do her floors. She went to the local tile store with a design she had drawn up, but the reaction she received from the salesman was one of disbelief. He couldn't believe she was going to install three rooms of custom tile with no previous experience, and she was going to complete the project by herself.
Undaunted, she picked up her tiles a few weeks later, and started on this challenging project. The result surprised even Michelle, as she knew very quickly that she was hooked on this timeless art form. Her floors turned out beautifully, and got her started on an exciting new career.
Each piece Michelle creates has numerous hours/days/weeks invested. "There is nothing quick about mosaic art if it is to be beautiful when it's finished," she explains. Though each piece is started with a general plan in mind, each one comes to life in a unique way. Most are created with a combination of stained glass, vitreous tile and glass stones. Some have river stones, travertine and other various media as well.
